Everything is BEDter during Town & Country Days The Main Street Program challenged all businesses, individuals, students, families, church groups and civic groups to a race down Main Street. This wasn’t an ordinary race though, it was a race using beds on wheels. Participating teams were encouraged to decorate their beds to the parade theme - “Cartoon Characters”.
A highly sought after traveling trophy was awarded to The Bed Rocks, the team with the fastest bed. The Bedrocks have bragging rights and may proudly display their trophy until next year’s races. The trophy is then passed on to next year's winners. The Bed Pan award was also awarded to The Bed Rocks as the team with The Most Outrageously Decorated Bed. The Broken Spring award was given for 2nd Place to The Grateful Bed. And the Spirit Award was awarded to Dora The Explorers, the team with the most spirit. By use of water guns and silly string they were able to knock out The Lake Mills Fire Department from placing in the finals heat. They also ran the entire race in flip flops. Who else beside a group of teenage girls could pull this off.
